L. Scott Horne, DMD, PL

drhorne Dr. Horne grew up in Silverdale, Washington in the Pacific Northwest. He earned a Bachelor’s degree with dual concentration in chemistry and biology at Florida Southern College in Lakeland, FL. At Southern College he excelled both academically and athletically playing soccer. In 2000 he earned his DMD from University of Florida College of Dental Medicine. Following His DMD, Dr. Horne joined the United States Air Force which allowed him to serve our great nation, and enroll in a year long advanced education program in general dentistry (AEGD) at Keesler AFB, Biloxi, MS, where he graduated at the top of his residency class. Dr. Horne’s Service at Tyndall AFB, Panama City, FL followed.  In 2004 Dr. Horne was accepted into the prestigious residency at Wilford Hall Medical Center, Lackland AFB, San Antonio, Texas.  Following residency, Dr. Horne returned to the Emerald Coast where he was stationed at Eglin AFB. While at Eglin, he was responsible for the education of dental residents and provided optimal  care for the nation’s war fighters on the Emerald Coast. During his 4 years at Eglin, Dr. Horne averaged 50+ orthognathic cases annually. He was voted the clinics Top Educator and highest volume producer by his resident peers.

Dr. Horne is board certified in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, is an active member of many professional societies including the American Dental Association and The American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Horne has lectured nationally on numerous topics including; TMJ disorders, dental infections, sedation techniques, obstructive sleep apnea, soft and hard tissue trauma and orthognathic surgery.

His clinical interests include; managing impacted and erupted teeth, dental implants, bone grafting, TMJ, myofacial pain, orthognathic surgery and facial trauma.

Dr. Horne practices at the Crestview and Fort Walton Beach offices. 

In his free time Dr. Horne enjoys a busy life with wife, Zabrina and daughters Jayden and Brianna. He enjoys golf, but time constraints do not allow him to get to the golf course as often as he would like.
